RE-STOOL, sitting system for Fablab, Turin

BRIEF

Create a new sitting system for the Fablab of Turin, a workshop area for makers,
students and developer to create and design projects of any type.

Methodology
Start analysing the space to understand the needs, the potential and the weakness
that we found in the disorder and in the presence of already a lot of material not use.

REUSE WHAT WE HAVE

The office chairs do not respond to the spaces, they are used for a lot of actions but not the movements of a workshop where people need to stand up and get down quickly.
PROTOTYPE
We develop RE-STOOL by laser cutting the pieces, glued them, and drill them. For the legs we develop
Usability

We test RE-STOOL in the Fablab to test the usability and the movements of the makers, give support to everyday actions and response to the space: we develop easy solutions for all the pieces of the original office chair.
FINAL RESULT

We develop RE-STOOL reusing an office chair, in addition we propose other option like creating a wooden chart and a tool organizer using the wheels and the cover of the metale base of the previous chair.
We develop:
- a book collecting our process and studies;
- a manual of istructions;
- files where the pieces we project can be editable trought the use of Grasshopper in Rhinoceros.
